Frederick Erwin Woodford Obituary - Frederick Erwin Woodford 68, Topeka, KS died December 31, 2006 at home. He was born January 13, 1938 in Washington, D.C. the first son of John Harold Woodford and Hilda Burgdorf Woodford. He graduated in 1956 from Washington High School in Indianapolis He served in the Army and then Army National Guard from 1960 through 1967. He received a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette in 1969 and obtained a Master's in Business Adininistration from the University of Indianapolis in 1980. He was employed in Indianapolis by Fleck, Burkart and Shropshire Consulting Engineers from 1969 to 1970, Western Electric from 1970 to 1971 and the Indianapolis Water Company from 1971 to 1994. He was then employed by the City of Topeka, Water Division from 1995 until his retirement in December 2005. Mr. Woodford was a member of Topeka Bible Church, Topeka, KS. He married Beverly Kay Schooley of Indianapolis, Indiana on November 4, 1961 in Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Charles E. Woodford. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara W. Stapleton and Michael D. Stapleton; two grandchildren, Connor D. and Corrine E. Stapleton; and five brothers, William H. Woodford, John H. Woodford, James T. Woodford, Samuel D. Woodford, and Robert E. Woodford. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2007 at Conkle Funeral Home Speedway Chapel, with visitation from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 4. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Indianapolis. A memorial service will also be held on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at Topeka Bible Church, 1101 SW Mulvane St., Topeka, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International or Topeka Bible Church, Topeka , Kansas.
