Your Riders!
Riders and Instructors are the backbone of safe riding; training system. All RiderCoach™ (instructors) must complete an intensive Instructor Preparation Course prior to becoming an MSF Basic RiderCourse™ Certified Instructor. Only nationally certified MSF RiderCoach™ Instructors teach courses at Motorcycle Training of Florida, Inc., providing training in Jacksonville, Green Cove Springs, and Lake City, Florida. We ask you to take a moment and meet our instructors through their biographies.
Brother Fred
Fred was in water engineering for more than 32 years and was assigned to the Indianapolis Water Company, then the Topeka, KS water company.
Fred started in Indianapolis at Fleck, Burkhart and Schropshire, then the Indianaplis Water Company. Once they cut his legs out from under him instead of his earned promotion, he moved to Topeka, KS.
There, after a short stent as a Truck Driver, he finished his engineering carrer at the Topeka Water Company.
He retired in 2006.
Brother Charles
Charlie originally from Indpls, he started his career in Indianapolis, IN. He had incredible mecahical experience.
He married the beautiful Vivian Jones and They had one son together, Ken.
Charles was tragically killed trying to help a friend. Working on the car, he was under it when it fell.
Brother William
Bill served over 31 years at Bryant Heating and Cooling. The company was absorbed by Carrier from which he retired.
He loved riding his motorcycles.
He took many trips on the motorcycle, going to many places with his brothers
His final trip was to go to Crater Lake, OR. On the road from Eureka, NV he ran off the rain-slick road and was killed.
Brother John
John graduated from George Washington High School and went to work at Western Electric, a division of Ma Bell.
He married Miss Donna Craptree and they had one daughter together
He serviced in the Indiana Army National Guard for 6 years
John and Donna moved several times with his job, from Indianapolis, to Winston-Salem, NC, then to Oklahoma where he finally retired.
They moved to Pine Knot, KY and lived for many years until his death in 2024.
Brother Jim
Woody began his career in the United States Marine Corps and finished twenty years later at the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Command in Washington, DC. Being on the LAM (life after military) he started his Information Technology career, culminating as the CTO for Enterprise Consulting & Integration (ECI, Jacksonville). He currently teaches Computer and Technology courses for a local University, but his real love is riding motorcycles. With more than 40 years of safe riding experience, Woody is a genuine asset to the training cadre of RiderCoaches™ here at MTOFI.
Brother Sam
Sam began after High School at Midwest Tank. Moved to Indianapolis Power and Light as a Lineman, and finished his career years later.
